Top Ripple NFT Collection XPUNKS Officially Announces its Migration to Solana Blockchain.

XPUNKS, a leading NFT project on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), has announced a significant move: bridging to Solana. This move comes amidst a growing trend of top NFT projects migrating to Solana, following a period where some high-profile collections left the platform—notably, in December 2022, DeGods, a leading Solana NFT collection, made the decision to move to Ethereum. However, the recent influx of projects like Killabears, a top Ethereum-based gaming studio that bridged its collection to Solana this week, suggests a major shift in sentiment.

XPUNKS holds a unique place in NFT history as the first-ever project minted on Ripple. It is responsible for an impressive 35% of all NFT volume on the XRPL and even boasts a connection to space exploration, having sent its entire collection to the moon with NASA and SpaceX.

The project's founder, Kaj Leroy, revealed to SolanaFloor that discussions about a potential migration began in September 2023, with the final decision solidifying in December. The community's overwhelmingly positive reaction, coupled with the warm welcome from the Solana ecosystem, has bolstered the team's confidence in the move.
